Job summary

The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) seeks a Chief Anesthesiologist to lead anesthesia services across NMVAHCS. This OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT will remain open until January 08, 2027; applications will be considered as vacancies arise.

Qualifications

• Must hold Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine.
• Board certification required or eligible as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for anesthesia services at NMVAHCS.
• Oversee clinical care delivery and administrative functions across anesthesia locations.
• Collaborate with CRNAs and licensed independent providers to ensure high-quality care.
• Direct perioperative care including preop optimization, intraoperative pathways, and postop management.
• Supervise residents and students and participate in academic activities with UNM.
