Job summary

Carolina Casualty, a Berkley Company, is seeking an accomplished Chief Actuary to lead the Property and Casualty actuarial functions in Jacksonville, FL. You will oversee rate setting, loss reserve adequacy, and strategic pricing initiatives for commercial auto lines.

The role requires FCAS, a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related fields, and 10+ years of leadership in a complex matrix environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math/statistics, economics, finance or related disciplines.
• FCAS designation.
• 10+ years of progressive actuarial leadership experience in a complex environment.
• 8 years of people leadership in P&C actuarial roles.
• Experience with pricing, analytics, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Property and Casualty actuarial functions for the organization.
• Oversees rating formulas, rate approvals, and loss reserve adequacy.
• Advises management on major rating assumptions and product development.
• Collaborates with executives to guide actuarial direction and strategy.
• Leads and develops high-performing actuarial teams.
