Bell and Evans is seeking a Chick Delivery Driver to run 1st shift in Fredericksburg, PA. This full-time role involves operating tractor-trailer units to deliver day-old chicks and collect eggs from source farms, with on-the-job training in both egg and chick sides of the operation.

Eligible candidates must hold a Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement preferred or willing to obtain, and maintain a clean driving record. Team-based work and safe driving are essential in this hatchery environment.

Responsibilities

• Safe loading and unloading of waste tanks to scheduled disposal sites.
• Safely operate a tractor trailer.
• Loading chicks into trucks at the hatchery and unloading trucks at the growers.
• Tracking all mileage logs and vehicle condition reports.
• Loading and unloading egg racks at farms and hatchery.
• Fuel truck.
• Keep trucks and trailers clean.
• Report any mechanical problems or needed maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hatchery driver will be an integral part of hatchery operations by operating tractor-trailer combinations for use in the safe andtimelydelivery of day-old chicks to customers, as well as the safe andtimelypick-up of eggs from source farms. Our candidate will train on both the egg side of the operation, as well as the chick side, and work as a fill-in to both as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Safe loading and unloading of waste tanks to scheduled disposal sites.
• Safelyoperatea tractor trailer.
• Loading chicks into trucks at the hatchery and unloading trucks at the growers.
• Tracking all mileage logs and vehicle condition reports.
• Loading and unloading empty & full egg racks at the farms and the hatchery.
• Fuel truck.
• Keep trucks and trailers clean.
• Report any mechanical problems, or necessary maintenance to the employee responsible for these things.

• Pick-up and delivery schedules are posted 3 weeks in advance.
• Agricultural HOS
• Able to work as a member of team and be helpful to others as needed.
• Must be physically capable of independently handling bulky trolley equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :

Class A, CDL, and some road experience.

Tanker Endorsement required or willingness to obtain.
