Job summary

Sysco in the Chicago area is seeking a CAD Designer for foodservice equipment drawings. You will create layouts and complete construction drawing sets with plumbing, electrical and mechanical rough-ins using Revit, AutoCAD and AutoQuotes.

You will review drawings with architects, engineers, contractors and owners, ensure code compliance, and coordinate schedules, submittals and shop drawings while maintaining an organized library of plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related experience; equivalent mix accepted.
• Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD and AutoQuotes required.
• Ability to read construction plans and documents; strong math skills.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, organizational and independent work abilities.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Create foodservice equipment drawings using AutoCAD, Revit and AutoQuotes.
• Produce complete drawing sets with plumbing, electrical and mechanical rough-ins.
• Review drawings and submittals for accuracy against specs and drawings.
• Apply building codes and site requirements to plans.
• Generate schedules, MEPs and elevations; update plans per revisions.
• Produce submittal-ready plans and maintain electronic library.
• Review vendor/shop drawings; confirm field measurements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and owners to meet schedule and budget.
• Assist with Cut Books for specs and Owners Manuals; perform other duties as assigned.
