Job summary

New Venture Fund, based in Chicago, seeks a C3 Grantmaking program officer to originate and manage a global portfolio of grants across research, data collection, case studies, and outreach. The role reports to the NVF President with support from the advisory board and evolves within a fast-changing grantmaking environment.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of impact investing and catalytic capital, and a proven ability to build high-impact grant

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of the impact investing field and catalytic capital.
• Experience building a high‑impact grant portfolio with due diligence.
• Experience with philanthropic strategies focusing on actionable research.
• Comfortable in start-up contexts and adaptable.
• Proven track record of top performance and value-added contributions.

Responsibilities

• Govern governance, grantmaking approach, and program management with advisory board.
• Develop and maintain a workplan and grant pipeline.
• Manage grants budget and financial tracking.
• Oversee solicitation, due diligence, and selection of grant recipients.
• Coordinate documentation, disbursement, and reporting for grants.
• Ensure a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens across grantmaking.
