Job description

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Chess Instructor to join our educational platform and inspire learners through strategic thinking and gameplay. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of chess fundamentals, teaching experience, and the ability to guide students from beginner to advanced levels in an engaging and structured manner.

As a Chess Instructor, you will lead virtual lessons that build critical thinking, focus, and strategic planning skills. You will also support learners in developing their game knowledge, improving their tactical and analytical abilities, and preparing for friendly or competitive matches.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Interactive Chess Sessions – Teach chess fundamentals, openings, tactics, and endgames in a well-structured and engaging format.

Personalize Instruction – Adapt lesson plans according to students’ age, skill level, and pace of learning.

Promote Strategic Thinking – Foster logical reasoning and decision-making through practical gameplay.

Prepare Students for Competitions – Train students for local, national, or online chess tournaments.

Assess and Track Progress – Provide regular feedback, monitor improvement, and guide students through personalized development plans.

Create a Positive Learning Environment – Encourage participation, problem-solving, and a passion for the game.

Utilize Online Tools – Deliver sessions effectively through Zoom and integrate digital platforms for live games and demonstrations.

Requirements
Educational Background

No formal degree required, but certifications or achievements in chess (FIDE ratings, tournament participation) are preferred.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in playing and/or teaching chess.

Ability to explain complex strategies in a simple and engaging manner.

Experience working with children, teens, or adult learners.

Strong communication, patience, and instructional skills.

Passion for teaching and mentoring.

Technical Requirements

Active account on Lichess, Chess.com, or similar chess learning platforms.

Proficient in using online chess tools for instruction and demonstration.

Stable internet connection with a professional setup suitable for virtual teaching.

Experience using Zoom for conducting live online sessions.
