My County Parks is hiring for a part-time position based at the Licklider Shooting Complex in Iowa. The role involves assisting range users with signing in, collecting fees, and enforcing range rules while performing basic range and park maintenance.

This part-time position includes weekend afternoons plus one weekday evening.
Position will be based at Licklider Shooting Complex. Employee will assist range users at all shooting locations (firearm and archery) with signing in, collecting fees, enforcing range rules, performing basic range maintenance (picking up brass, maintaining backstops, minor repairs), operating trap fields and their machines, and performing basic park maintenance. Basic park maintenance includes, but is not limited to routine area and facility maintenance (mowing, trash removal, restroom cleaning), includes the operation and maintenance of all agency equipment (mowers, UTV, trucks, trimmers, tools), and other duties as assigned.
Ability to routinely stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, balance, climb and operate machines and all hand and power tools for extended periods of time. Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work unsupervised outdoors in extreme hot, cold, rainy and windy weather conditions and be exposed to dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises. Ability to work a computer/tablet for collecting fees and looking up annual permits users and responsibly handle money. Pre‑employment physical is required.
Minimum: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Driver’s License. Prefer education, experience, or interest in natural resources, customer service, shooting sports, and/or outdoor recreation.
