Job summary

Olive-Harvey College is seeking a part-time Peer Tutor for the Chemistry Department. The tutor will provide one-on-one or small group tutoring, reinforce fundamentals, and support students in developing independent study skills.

Responsibilities include tutoring under supervision, attending training, and planning sessions to enhance understanding and problem-solving. A flexible schedule and commitment to student success are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED.
• 3.0 overall GPA and 4.0 GPA in a specific subject matter.
• Strong background in math, science, literature, or other assigned academic subject matter.
• Ability to work in a one-on-one or team environment with flexible work hours as needed for scheduled shifts.
• Prior tutoring experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general academic support including tutoring services and basic skills assistance.
• Offer one-on-one and small group tutoring to help students develop competencies.
• Encourage independent learning and positive attitudes toward studying.
• Plan tutoring sessions using collaborative approaches to enhance understanding and problem-solving.
