Job summary

Jackson Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist/MLS to supervise and develop lab staff. You will lead pre-analytical and analytical testing, coach technicians, and ensure compliant performance through training, QC, and instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities include conducting competency assessments, annual performance evaluations, administering corrective actions, and tight inventory control to maintain high quality lab operations.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in medical technology with MT internship.
• At least 4 years ASCP/MLS registered experience, with 1 year in area of expertise.
• Strong teaching, quality control, inventory, and maintenance responsibilities.
• Ability to perform staff training and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of staff involved in pre-analytical and analytical testing.
• Ensure quality of technical performance through training, QC, and instrument maintenance.
• Conduct competency assessments and staff performance evaluations.

Job description

Good communication skills to interact with employees on all levels is required. Direct supervision of employees involved in pre-analytical and analytical test performance is required. Responsible for ensuring, through teaching, quality control, instrument maintenance, and inventory control, that the quality of technical performance in their particular specialty is maintained at a consistently high level at all times: Performs technical competency/verification of training assessment for each staff member. Perform performance evaluations along with feedback during year to keep employees on targeted goals. Basic management skills must be utilized in daily operations and practiced. Administer corrective actions as required.

Experience

At least 4 years of experience as ASCP/MLS registered medical technologist with one year in area of technical expertise.
