Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (preferred).
• Prior experimental experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs professional research and engineering assignments to include performing experiments; gathering and analyzing data and samples; setting up/operating equipment; and inspects minor fabrication, erection or assembly for conformance to specifications.
• Performs specified phases of research projects to include making and recording observations and measurements; compiles data; processes paperwork; maintains lab accounts; writes technical reports; and assists in the writing and editing process of grants.
• Trains incoming and existing students on experimental procedures and edits students’ papers prior to submission for journals or for class.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
