Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or closely related field (organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, biochemistry).
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file patent applications for chemical inventions.
• Translate technical chemistry results into clear legal language.
• Review disclosures for novelty, utility, and non-obviousness.
• Conduct prior art searches and evaluate literature and patents.
• Respond to USPTO office actions with technical arguments.
• Collaborate with attorneys on IP strategies.
• Work with inventors and R&D to ensure accurate chemical descriptions.
• Communicate chemical concepts to non-scientists.
• Advise on patent scope and freedom-to-operate.
• Help maintain chemical technology IP portfolios.
