Job summary

University of New Mexico invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Open Rank Lecturer II or III in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The incumbent will teach undergraduate chemistry courses across general, analytical, inorganic, organic, chemical biology, or physical chemistry; graduate teaching may occur depending on specialty.

The role includes teaching in accordance with the workload policy, coordinating student assistants, and department service.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (Lecturer II) or Ph.D. (Lecturer III) in Chemistry or related field completed by June 1, 2027.
• Minimum of four semesters of teaching experience in chemistry or related field at an academic institution of higher education.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in general, analytical, inorganic, organic, chemical biology, or physical chemistry.
• Graduate teaching may be possible depending on specialty and department need.
• Coordinate student assistants and participate in department service; workload determined by policies.
• Lecturers are reviewed annually.
