Job summary

College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time continuing non-tenure track Lab Instructor position in the Department of Chemistry, starting August 2026. The role focuses on teaching analytical, inorganic, and physical chemistry labs (about four per semester), co-taught with the lecturer.

The instructor will maintain labs and inventories, develop experiments, and supervise students and TAs, with grading on the LMS.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and a commitment to inclusive pedagogies.
• Desire to teach laboratory courses.
• Ph.D. required by the beginning of the appointment.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise laboratory sections in Analytical, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry.
• Oversee all aspects of upper-level chemistry laboratories, including instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Manage chemical and equipment inventories and prepare/breakdown laboratory spaces.
• Develop and test new experiments in collaboration with faculty.
• Supervise students and teaching assistants and manage course materials and grading.
