Job summary

Connecticut State Community College seeks an experienced teaching faculty member for on-site instruction at the Waterbury campus. The Assistant Professor will teach up to 30 credit hours annually in the assigned discipline across lecture, hybrid, and online formats, developing syllabi and maintaining current course materials.

The candidate will respond to student needs, mentor peers, and contribute to program reviews and accreditation activities as outlined in the Collective Bargaining

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Biochemistry or Chemistry.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Two+ years of college-level teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 30 credit hours per academic year in assigned discipline, in lecture, hybrid, or online formats.
• Develop syllabi, reading lists, and up-to-date course materials.
• Provide student mentoring, advising, and assessments of learning outcomes.
• Participate in program reviews, accreditation activities, and service on committees.
