Job summary

Tacoma Community College is seeking a part-time chemistry faculty member to teach introductory chemistry and corresponding labs at the Tacoma campus or Gig Harbor, with hybrid or online components as needed.

The position reports to the Dean for Math, Science and Engineering and may require evening hours. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in chemistry, with preferred experience teaching at a community college.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or closely related field.
• Experience teaching at a community college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach courses in introductory chemistry including both organic and inorganic chemistry in a classroom environment. (Tacoma does not offer online classes in this subject area.)
• Successfully teach students with no prior chemistry background.
• Perform duties as assigned.
