Job summary

Kern Community College District is seeking a part-time Chemistry instructor for the ESCC adjunct pool in Bishop/Mammoth, CA. The position is temporary and hourly, with a starting rate of $67.00 per hour.

The instructor will teach a broad range of chemistry courses and may work at other campus sites as needed. The successful candidate will develop and update curricula, employ diverse teaching methods, and participate in student recruitment and program articulation within Science.

Qualifications

• Master's in chemistry is required.
• Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry and Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry also acceptable.
• Possession of a valid credential authorizing full-time teaching of Chemistry at the CC college level is acceptable.
• Equivalency may be requested using the EQUIVALENCE form with supporting documents.
• A demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in a full range of Chemistry courses.
• Teach at multiple campus sites and modalities as needed.
• Contribute to curriculum development and revision.
• Engage in student recruitment and articulation activities for Science.
