Job summary

Rogers State University is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Engineering. A Ph.D.

in Chemistry or closely related field is required and must be conferred by January 2027. The faculty member will teach undergraduate chemistry courses for science, technology, nursing, and engineering programs and pursue academic research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field from an accredited institution and a commitment to teaching excellence.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Effective use of technology for online, in-person, hybrid, and distance learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction with online or on-ground undergraduate courses in chemistry as assigned by the Department Head.
• Design courses to effectively meet curricular requirements and accreditation standards. Develop and use syllabi based on university guidelines.
• Provide student support via email, MyRSU, and Blackboard.
• Grade and post student work while providing constructive and detailed feedback to help students achieve academic success.
• Serve on departmental and university committees as needed.
• Contribute to community outreach, departmental recruitment efforts, and engagement initiatives.
• Participate in assessment, program review, and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain appropriate office hours and provide academic/professional mentoring to students.
• Participate in chemistry laboratory development, safety, inventory, and equipment oversight as assigned.
