Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest - Calscience in Tustin, CA is seeking a Chemist I for the IC/HPLC department to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols and Eurofins QA programs. The role requires careful attention to SOPs and data integrity.

Responsibilities include instrument calibration, QC review, and preparing standards. This is a full-time evening shift position with overtime eligibility, offering comprehensive benefits.

Competenze

• BS or BA in Chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory analytical experience may substitute for a degree
• Experience with Ion Chromatography or HPLC preferred
• Knowledge of EPA Methods preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced, production environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English

Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest - Calscience is searching for a Chemist I for our IC/HPLC department in Tustin, CA to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols in adherence with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform testing activities as directed by Group Leader in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor backlog and plan testing schedule to ensure sample hold times and turn‑around‑times are met.
• Ability to work independently following written and verbal instructions.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills.
• Support equipment utilized may include pH meter, conductivity meter, analytical balance, block digester, etc.
• Instrumentation will be primarily Ion Chromatography focused.
• Maintain neat and accurate records.
• Prepare standards and reagents for sample analysis.
• Prepare soil samples for analysis by the DI LEACH TOT method.
• Complete first level review on preparation batches.
• Filter and load water samples onto instruments.
• Review chromatograms and address QC failures.
• Monitor analytical data to assure data meets method, SOP requirements.
• Perform calibrations and/or checks of laboratory equipment such as analytical balances and pipettes.
• Assist with maintenance of standard, chemical, and supply inventory.
• Perform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environment.
• Conduct daily duties in an efficient and safe manner, remaining compliant with environmental health and safety programs.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

• BS or BA in Chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory analytical experience may substitute for a degree
• Experience with Ion Chromatography or High-Performance Liquid Chromatography preferred
• Knowledge of EPA Methods preferred
• Experience working in a fast paced, production environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Additional Information

Compensation range: $18- $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Position is Full-time and eligible for overtime pay

Candidate must be able to work Monday through Friday, 3:00pm - 12:00am
