Job summary

Technical & Engineering Consulting LLC is seeking a qualified Chemist to support analytical lab activities in a regulated pharmaceutical environment in Puerto Rico. Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant laboratory experience in regulated settings.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, UV, IR).
  • Experience using Empower chromatography software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and analytical testing of samples according to established procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory equipment including HPLC, UV, IR.
  • Execute analytical methods and interpret results accurately.
  • Utilize Empower chromatography software for data acquisition, processing, and reporting.
  • Support investigations, method execution, and problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation following procedures and data integrity requirements.
  • Follow USP, EP and related pharmacopeial standards; ensure safety and quality compliance.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing and cross-functional teams to support objectives.

Position Summary

Technical & Engineering Consulting LLC is seeking a qualified Chemist to support analytical laboratory activities within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

The Chemist will be responsible for performing analytical testing, operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, reviewing analytical results, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with applicable procedures, data integrity requirements, and pharmacopeial standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical and analytical testing of samples according to established procedures, methods, and specifications.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory equipment, including HPLC, UV, IR, and related instrumentation.
  • Execute analytical methods and accurately interpret test results.
  • Utilize Empower chromatography software for data acquisition, processing, and reporting.
  • Support laboratory investigations, troubleshooting, method execution, and problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with applicable procedures and data integrity requirements.
  • Follow applicable pharmacopeial standards, including USP and EP requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to support laboratory and business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laboratory, safety, and quality procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry.
  • 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industry.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including:
    • HPLC
    • UV Spectrophotometry
    • IR Spectrophotometry
    • Other analytical laboratory equipment
  • Working knowledge of chromatography principles and analytical techniques.
  • Experience using Empower chromatography software.
  • Knowledge of USP, EP, and related pharmacopeial requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualification
  • Puerto Chemist License preferred.
