Job summary

S&P Global Energy Platts seeks a Price Reporter for the Americas chemical and polymer markets, based in Houston with hybrid work. You’ll report daily trading, write commentaries, and produce real-time news stories and presentations, engaging with market participants and building a robust contacts database.

You’ll have opportunities to travel for industry events, contribute to global price assessments, and grow within the Chemicals team across LATAM and the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Journalism, Business, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Report on daily physical trading activity to produce prices from market contacts.
• Write daily commentaries explaining price trends.
• Create real-time news stories and participate in webinars/presentations.
• Engage with market participants and manage a contacts database.
• Identify opportunities to refine methodology and launch new price assessments.
