Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group, a distinguished independent EPCm firm, seeks a Process Engineer Intern/Co-op to work with process engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and other deliverables for design projects, and to interface with team members from Nexus and client disciplines.

Gain exposure to process modeling software such as Aspen, HYSYS, and ChemCAD, expand capabilities, learn about process safety, and understand industry codes that guide design and operation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others.
• Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word; willingness to seek feedback to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity with supervision as needed (hydraulics, relief devices, equipment sizing).
• Develop and maintain P&IDs and PFDs.
• Assist experienced Process Engineers with their activities.
