Job summary

Thatcher Company in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer III to join our engineering team. You will provide process engineering and technical support to plant operations, capital projects, and cross-functional teams, identifying opportunities and driving improvements.

You will work with operations and business teams to implement plant improvements, develop process documentation, and contribute to safety, environmental performance, and reliable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and 8+ years of experience in a process facility.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety practices across plant operations.
• Optimize production and efficiency by implementing improvements and managing constraints.
• Collaborate with operations and manufacturing to resolve technical issues.
• Develop process documentation and safety information (P&IDs, material balances, equipment datasheets, line sizing, hydraulic calculations, and instrument/relief datasheets).
• Contribute to process safety and environmental performance through PHA, MOC, and incident investigations.
• Manage capital projects from design through startup.
