Job summary

TriStarr Talent is seeking hands-on Chemical or Process Engineers to support ongoing projects. This contract position blends engineering analysis, plant operations, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and process improvement.

Responsibilities include operating pilot plants, collecting data, compiling mass balances, and generating technical reports. Local candidates preferred with potential for rotating or nontraditional shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• No experience required; two years preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Visio, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other CAD software is a plus.
• Ability to perform thermodynamic and process calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in building, operating, and troubleshooting process systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operating environment.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

• Support or supervise pilot plant operations based on project needs and experience.
• Perform practical engineering calculations, including: pressure-drop calculations, pipe sizing and velocity calculations, heat-transfer estimates, particle-transport calculations.
• Support process-control activities and implement chemical processes using various control strategies.
• Assist with pilot plant design, process-system development, and mechanical design work.
• Use Excel, Word, and Visio to organize data, document processes, and communicate results.

What We’re Looking For

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Travel between work areas located across a 1,200-acre site, which may include walking between nearby locations.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, representing approximately 15% or less of the role.
• Wear steel-toed safety footwear and other required personal protective equipment.
