Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a hands-on Chemical Plant Worker to join our Loader – Rail Switching Technician team. You will safely load railcars and support rail movements within an industrial facility, contributing to daily operations and long-term growth.

As a key member of the warehouse and plant teams, you will operate a forklift, inspect equipment, and complete required paperwork with a focus on accuracy and safety. On-site roles require regular attendance and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• Able to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Speak, write, read fluent English

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars and connect/disconnect loading arms or hoses
• Weigh railcars, check for leaks, and complete paperwork
• Operate a forklift and warehouse machinery to load product onto trailers
• Inspect trailers for securement and damages; ensure product is secured
• Complete paperwork and labeling; maintain housekeeping and safety standards
• Perform any other duties assigned to support daily operations

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Loader

• Cleans and inspects railcars prior to product transfer
• Connects and disconnects loading arms or hoses
• Checks for leaks, weighs railcars, and completes paperwork

Warehouse

• Operates a forklift and other warehouse machinery to safely load product onto trailers
• Inspects trailers to ensure product securement and no trailer damages
• Reviews and / or completes paperwork and labels for accuracy

• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
• Operates a forklift safely and efficiently
• Conducts daily walk throughs of the tank farm (addresses housekeeping and cleaning)
• Assists with the moving of drums, totes and other items by operating a forklift
• Assists with the moving of equipment and other items for contractors working on projects
• Assists with request from the process Supervisors
• Support the plant process team with special projects
• Abide by all plant safety requirements
• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job

Job Qualifications

• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
