Job summary

OxyChem is seeking a Project Engineer for its LPVCM Plant in La Porte, Texas. You will lead capital projects with plant planners and a capital supervisor to deliver safe, timely, and economical results.

The role requires engineering credentials and a track record in project engineering, with strong collaboration across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. You will develop scopes, estimate costs, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 5+ years of job-related experience.
• 3+ years of project engineering experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and wear PPE including respirator.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes capital projects with plant Planner and Capital Supervisor to deliver safe, timely, and economical completion.
• Acts as liaison with engineering, operations, and maintenance.
• Develops and manages project scopes, technical solutions, and business objectives.
• Estimates and controls costs and schedules for projects.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures; prepares documentation and updates project records.
• Coordinates with planner, construction supervision, and operations for project turnover.
• Performs activities to ensure successful project execution and timely updates.
