Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Take daily inventory and load/unload raw materials and finished goods.
  • Operate equipment such as skid loaders, forklifts, pumps, blenders, reactors, and weighing scales.
  • Unload and transfer raw materials using proper safety procedures and PPE.
  • Read meters and instruments to ensure accurate production; report issues.
  • Collect and label samples for lab testing.
  • Prepare and label drums and totes for shipping.
  • Follow batch instructions under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Role Overview

The Chemical Plant Operator I is responsible for taking daily inventory, unloading and loading raw materials and finished goods, as well as helping in any of the other operational departments. Chemical Plant Operators are also responsible for using and maintaining the equipment used to blend chemicals.

A Sample of What You’ll Do in this Role:
  • Assist with inventory, leak, and tank checks; open/close tanks and transfer lines for raw material handling.
  • Operate equipment such as skid loaders, forklifts, pumps, blenders, reactors, and weighing scales.
  • Unload and transfer raw materials (e.g., Acetic acid, Formic acid, Aqua Ammonia) using proper safety procedures and personal protective equipment, including respirators.
  • Learn to read meters, charts, and instruments to ensure accurate production operations; gain experience with troubleshooting and report equipment issues to management.
  • Collect, label, and deliver product samples for lab testing.
  • Help prepare and label drums, totes, and other containers for shipping.
  • Follow batch instructions under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
What You Bring To The Role

  • Ability to work in an environment that has a moderately loud noise level.
  • Must pass a pulmonary function test and have a respirator clearance.

  • 1+ years of work experience in a chemical plant and a strong understanding of chemical processing are preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma or higher required.

  • Ability to read and interpret digital control systems, meters, and monitoring dashboards
  • Familiarity with using digital tools (e.g., tablets, handheld devices) for inspections, safety checks, and reporting
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, including automation systems and AI-assisted tools that support operational efficiency
  • Ability to use collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams or similar platforms) to communicate updates and report issues in real time

Compensation And Benefits
  • The base compensation for this position ranges from $19.38 to $25.85 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
