Job summary

Ecolab’s McDonough, GA facility is hiring a Chemical Plant Operator I to operate and control chemical processing systems and equipment, producing high-quality products safely and efficiently.

This hands-on role requires following process instructions, maintaining accurate production records, and collaborating with the Quality team to resolve discrepancies while upholding safety and continuous improvement standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of industrial manufacturing mixing experience.
• 1 year of chemical mixing experience.
• No immigration sponsorship available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Review daily mix schedules and confirm availability of required raw materials to ensure smooth production flow.
• Accurately add raw materials to mixing systems using manual methods, pumps, or automated equipment, following standard mix instructions.
• Operate mixing equipment with variable agitation to achieve consistent batch quality.
• Monitor product quality throughout the mixing and filling process, identifying and reporting any out-of-spec materials or batches.
• Partner with Quality team members to resolve batch discrepancies and ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform thorough cleaning of all mix tanks and associated equipment to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Operate forklifts, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Maintain accurate production records and equipment logs.
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following all Ecolab safety protocols and participating in safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements aligned with Ecolab’s continuous improvement goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and team success.

Position Details

• Plant Location: McDonough, GA
• Work Week & Shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm
• Work Week & Shift: 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm
• Work Week & Shift: 3rd shift Sunday -Thursday from 10:00 p.m.- 6:00 a.m.
• Compensation: $25.55 ph with some OT with shift differential

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1 year of experience with industrial manufacturing (large batch) mixing experience, mixing multiple tanks at once
• 1 year of experience in chemical mixing
