Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined and able to use common hand tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
  • Understand safe working practices and wear PPE.
  • Good verbal and written communication; team oriented.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Follow procedures and site standards for safe, efficient operations.
  • Receive training and perform routine tasks with guidance.
  • Assist in modifying storage tanks and batches per specs.
  • Sample products in storage tanks.
  • Assist transfer and filtering of product from reactors to dryers or tank farm.
  • Assist handling raw materials and makeup products.
  • Conduct routine inspections and monitor equipment in various areas.
  • Operate forklift to move packaged goods.
  • Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chemical Operator, you’ll learn how to safely manufacture specialty chemical products while working alongside experienced operators and technical experts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follows operating procedures, site standards and policies, etc. to ensure the safe and efficient operations at the site.
  • Operator who receives training from others on tasks. With training is able to perform all repetitive/routine tasks without direction.
  • Assists in adjusting product in the modification, conditioning of storage tanks to complete a batch and adjust material to specifications with the help of experienced operators.
  • Samples products in storage tanks.
  • Assists experienced operator in transferring and filtering the product from reactors to dryers or tank farm.
  • Assists senior operator in handling and transferring raw materials from bulk and semi-bulk storage tanks, tote bins, drums, bags, etc. to adjust and makeup products.
  • Conducts routine inspections and monitors equipment in either the MOX, PPD, Alcoholates, Boranes and cylinder processing areas.
  • Utilizes forklift to move packaged goods, equipment as required.
  • Maintains high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a 24/5 or 24/7 work environment
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work with common hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, Air/battery operated tools).
  • Troubleshooting skills to recognize and address minor problems and would seek help for resolution.
  • Basic Math skills (add/subtract/multiple and divide, fraction to decimal conversions).
  • Basic computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office, or equivalent mail system.
  • Understand the basic safe working practices.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (ie: face shields, hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, clothing, etc).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
  • Strong team player and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
Prefer:
  • Experience working in a chemical/industrial manufacturing 24/7 or 24/5 environment desired
  • Experience with Standard Operating Procedures/Work Orders desired.
  • Ability to operate a forklift desired.
  • Experience wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) including respirators desired.
Educational Requirements:

GED/High School Diploma preferred

Physical Requirements

This is a rotating shift position which requires the ability to work overtime and in a seven day per week environment as required.

  • Must be able to work overtime, as required.
  • Must be able to work outdoor and use stairways/ladders to perform tasks.
  • Physical strength is required to operate manual process equipment.
  • Must meet lifting requirements up to (50 lbs.) and pass physical and respiratory requirements.
