Chemical Operator

We are seeking a safety-focused Chemical Operator to support day-to-day plant operations in Bay Minette, AL. This role operates and monitors plant equipment, handles materials, completes production/quality documentation, and actively supports safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts in an industrial plant environment (indoors and outdoors).

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and handle materials in accordance with safety procedures.
• Follow written instructions, production procedures, and quality guidelines.
• Complete required documentation and enter production/quality data as needed.
• Participate in safety activities, housekeeping, audits, near-miss reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
• Properly use hand tools, safety equipment, and assigned PPE.
• Submit maintenance work requests when equipment or process issues are identified.
• Support continuous improvement, organization, and 5S efforts throughout the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, industrial operations, or similar (preferred).
• Basic computer skills and clear communication skills (preferred).
• Ability to read written instructions and follow procedures.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
• Strong attention to safety, quality, teamwork, and reliability.
• Must be able to successfully complete a drug test and physical examination.
• Physical requirements: Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a plant environment; must be able to walk and climb stairs regularly; lift at least 50 pounds; and wear required PPE which may include safety glasses, gloves, respirator, steel toe boots, hard hat, face shield, disposable suit, rain gear, safety harness, or heat-resistant PPE depending on the task.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Rate: $25-$32/hour
• Schedule: Swing shift, 6:00-6:00, with bi-weekly shift cycles. Day shift runs Monday-Friday. Night shift runs Sunday-Friday.
