Job summary

SkyWater Technology seeks a Staff Technician - Chemical Operator to manage chemical distributions, batch processing, and SPC monitoring within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree and 5+ years of experience, with lift requirements and on-site responsibilities. The position includes a 6 pm–6 am shift, 15% differential, and strong teamwork expectations.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical/associate degree or equivalent military/mfg training.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or operations experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshoot abilities and teamwork.
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain chemical and slurry distributions to meet quality parameters.
• Offload drums/totes/isotainers to bulk tanks and batch process.
• Monitor processes with SPC charts and perform sampling.
• Maintain equipment uptime and troubleshoot system components.
• Follow defined procedures and drive continuous improvements.
• Uphold 5S and assist cross-departmental collaboration.

Staff Technician - Chemical Operator

Major Areas of Accountability

• Maintain supply and quality parameters of chemical and slurry distributions.
• Responsibilities include drum/tote/isotainer chemical offloading to bulk tanks, chemical batch processing, SPC chart monitoring of processes, chemical sampling.
• Maintain equipment uptime through maintenance activities and troubleshooting of system equipment, which include valves, filters, piping, pumps, instrumentation and other components.
• Work within defined technical processes and procedures.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvements.
• Uphold area upkeep and 5S principles.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery including forklift, pallet jack, and drum crusher.
• Ability to operate system equipment via HMI for batch creation and/or distribution.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally, elevate as required.
• Cross train as a backup resource for chemical handling department.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Record keeping, reporting, as required.

Shift:

B Shift:Sunday, Monday, Tuesday in week one, and Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday in week two, from 6 pm - 6 am. This role offers a 15% differential

Required Qualifications:

• Education: 2 Year Technical/Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military training / manufacturing work experience.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years
• Skills: mechanical inclination, ability to troubleshoot system equipment, good communication, attentive to detail, collaborative.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• At times bending and/or crouching

Desired Qualifications:

• Education: a relevant completed vocational / professional training of at least 3 years
• Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing or operations experience,
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, minor electrical and controls proficiency
