Job summary

AdvanSix in Philadelphia is seeking a Chemical Loading Operator to safely transfer bulk liquid chemicals to and from trucks, rail, and barges. You will handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials, adhere to SOPs, and support safety and production goals.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to obtain a TWIC card, and experience in chemical plant operations is preferred. Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transferring bulk liquid chemical products to/from trucks, rail, and barges.
  • Provide efficient and traceable movement of inbound and outbound products.
  • Load and unload hazardous liquid chemical trucks, rail cars, and barges.
  • Follow SOPs to ensure unit safety, quality, and production goals are met.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and a clean work environment.
  • Perform minor running maintenance.
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

Position Summary

The Chemical Loading Operator performs all aspects of safely transferring bulk liquid chemical products to and from trucks, rail, and barges.

Summary of the Main Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with plant requirements
  • Provide efficient and traceable movement of in-bound and out-bound company products
  • Load and unload hazardous liquid chemical trucks, rail cars, and barges
  • Perform standard work and adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality, and production goals are met
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and clean work environment
  • Perform minor running maintenance
  • Participate as member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), including fire brigade, HAZWOPER technician, and confined space rescue
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Experience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations is preferred
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card is required

  • Ability to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket & acid pants) – full face respirator and hood
  • Basic computer skills

The hourly rate for this position is $28.31
