Job summary

AdvanSix Inc. is seeking a Chemical Loading Operator to safely transfer bulk liquid chemical products to and from trucks, rail, and barges. The role emphasizes strict adherence to safety, SOPs, and contamination prevention in a chemical processing environment.

They will load and unload hazardous liquids, support emergency response activities, and maintain housekeeping while meeting production goals on a 12-hour rotating shift, in a facility that handles highly hazardous materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations preferred.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Safely transferring bulk liquid chemicals to and from trucks, rail, and barges.
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials per plant requirements.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and adhere to SOPs.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team activities (ERT, fire brigade, HAZWOPER, confined space rescue).
• Provide traceable and efficient movement of in-bound and out-bound products.

Job description

Position Summary

The Chemical Loading Operator performs all aspects of safely transferring bulk liquid chemical products to and from trucks, rail, and barges.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with plant requirements
• Provide efficient and traceable movement of in-bound and out-bound company products
• Load and unload hazardous liquid chemical trucks, rail cars, and barges
• Perform standard work and adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality, and production goals are met
• Maintain proper housekeeping and clean work environment
• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), including fire brigade, HAZWOPER technician, and confined space rescue

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Experience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations is preferred
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card is required

• Ability to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket & acid pants) – full face respirator and hood

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for this position is $28.31.
