Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Unity Lab Services team seeks an upbeat Chemical Management Specialist to maintain chemical inventory, ensure labs stay stocked and compliant, and keep operations efficient. The role supports GMP and cold room environments while handling books, labels, and SDS documentation.

You will verify inventories, process shipments, and coordinate with EHS to uphold safety standards. Requires a high school diploma and 1 year of customer-service experience in lab or warehouse

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read SDS and DOT labeling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Verify chemical inventory levels, locations, and expiration dates by bench audits and full-cycle counts.
  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming chemical shipments according to guidelines and DOT regulations.
  • Pick, pack, and stage chemical orders for distribution or disposal with 100% accuracy.
  • Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets to apply handling, storage, and spill-response procedures.
  • Identify and help resolve discrepancies in chemical handling or inventory records.
  • Collaborate with EHS and team members to uphold safety standards and train new staff.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management.
