Job summary

Advantest America in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking a plant technician to handle chemicals, mix and manage waste streams, and ensure labels meet OSHA standards. You will maintain chemical inventories and support on-time logistics within production schedules.

The role also involves assisting with electroless and wastewater treatment and helping with general housekeeping around the plant, while strictly following all procedural and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Follow Lab Operating Procedures (LOPs).
• Label chemical waste per OSHA standards.
• Maintain chemical inventory and provide counts as needed.
• Support production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.
• Assist electroless and wastewater treatment.
• Assist plant housekeeping as needed.

Responsibilities

• Report accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.
• Meet physical requirements: walking, standing, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, and wearing safety gear.

• Retrieving, adding, and mixing chemicals used in the production process.


• Read, understand & follow all Lab Operating Procedures (LOPs), ensuring all dumps and remakes (D&Rs) are completed properly.


• Ensuring each chemical waste is properly labeled by OSHA standards.


• Keep chemical inventory goods up to date, and provide inventory counts as needed.


• Maintains timing according to the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.


• In charge of maintaining/assisting electroless and wastewater treatment.


• Assist throughout the plant with housekeeping if needed.


• Loading/unloading of chemical waste

• Reporting accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.


• Meeting physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear.
