Job summary

Hemlock Semiconductor Operations is seeking Chemical Engineering students for summer internship opportunities at our manufacturing facility in Hemlock, Michigan. Interns will engage in hands-on projects aligned to coursework and will work within a safety‑conscious, team‑oriented environment.

Projects may involve process optimization, technology development and implementation, and process safety, with rotations across Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or Engineering & Services teams.

Qualifications

• Attend a 4-year university and pursue a certificate or degree in a similar field of study
• Minimum cumulative GPA 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
• Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during fall and winter semesters
• Must be able to work full time during the duration of the summer internship
• Must be within driving distance to the site and have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Intern – Assist Manufacturing Engineers with optimization efforts to improve yield, maximize throughput, maintain quality and increase process safety.
• Process Engineering Intern – Assist Process Engineers with developing and installing new technology, providing specialized support to manufacturing to solve problems, implementing improvements.
• Engineering and Services Intern – Assist Project Engineers with supporting our manufacturing teams by executing projects that increase reliability, capacity and capability.

Summary

Hemlock Semiconductor Operations is seeking Chemical Engineering students for summer internship positions at our manufacturing facility located in Hemlock, Michigan. Summer interns are assigned challenging projects that provide hands‑on, practical work experience that is aligned to the student’s current level of coursework and skills.

Projects may include one or more of the following areas:

• Process Optimization and Improvement
• Technology Development and Implementation
• Process Safety

Essential Functions

Students will be assigned into one of the the following areas

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Preferred Field of Study: Chemical Engineering

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, variable bonus, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
