Job description

Princeton Critical Minerals Inc (PCM) is a Princeton University spinout developing breakthrough technologies to enable sustainable extraction of lithium and other critical minerals. Our mission is to increase global mineral supply while minimizing water use, energy consumption, and environmental impact. We operate at the intersection of materials science, chemical engineering, and field‑scale deployment, with active pilot programs in the U.S. and internationally.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer or Chemist to join our team and help develop innovative, cost‑effective solutions for mineral extraction from brine resources. This role spans lab research, pilot testing, and field deployment, with direct impact on scaling next‑generation extraction technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop materials, coatings, and chemical processes to enhance mineral extraction efficiency from brine systems
  • Plan and execute laboratory experiments and field trials independently, including pilot‑scale testing
  • Analyze experimental data and translate findings into actionable process improvements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational protocols
  • Support product validation and performance benchmarking in real‑world environments
  • Collaborate on sensor integration, data analysis, and process monitoring systems
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to engineering design decisions
  • Communicate results and insights to internal teams, partners, and customers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related field
  • Strong foundation in process engineering, brine chemistry, and materials science
  • Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and process optimization
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools, sensor systems, or data analytics platforms is a plus
  • Experience in field work, pilot systems, or industrial environments preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; Spanish is a plus)
  • Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work in fast‑paced, multidisciplinary teams
  • Willingness to travel to field sites (U.S. and international) as needed
