Job summary

Sagent Behavioral Health in Big Lake, MN is hiring a Chemical Dependency Technician to support clients in a residential facility. You will work evenings (3:00 PM–11:00 PM) part-time, overseeing care, assisting with programming, and collaborating with counselors to respond to client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment.
  • Uphold the highest level of moral and ethical standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures after training.
  • Ensure timely documentation and accurate billing in line with DHS 245G statutes.
  • Conduct chart audits as requested.
  • Assist on-duty counseling staff.
  • Maintain client restrictions as communicated by staff and report inappropriate behavior.
  • Follow emergency procedures and weather policies.
  • Monitor and document client activities and transport clients to activities as directed.

As a Chemical Dependency Technician at Sagent Behavioral Health's Residential Treatment Center, you will work collaboratively with a team of Substance Abuse Counselors and other professionals to oversee clients and their treatment at our residential facility. You’ll perform a variety of important tasks such as responding to client needs/concerns, assisting with administrative duties, implementing programming as requested, and the general daily care of clients such as serving meals, driving them to appointments, providing general support, and responding accordingly to incidents, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment. Uphold the highest level of moral and ethical standards.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding of, and compliance with Sagent's Program Policy and Procedures upon training.
  • Remain compliant with Department of Human Services (DHS) 245G Statutes including timely documentation completion, clinical thoroughness and accurate billing for services provided.
  • Conduct chart audits as requested.
  • Provides assistance to on-duty counseling staff.
  • Provides consistency in program by maintaining all client restrictions communicated by counseling staff. Communicates to staff any inappropriate or suspected inappropriate client behavior.
  • Knows and follows program emergency procedures, vulnerable adult policy and reporting procedures, incident/accident reporting policies and procedures, and weather policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and documents client activities. Transports clients to directed activities or functions and monitoring behavior, attendance and safe return to resident facility.
Requirements
  • Do not have to have previous substance use disorder experience and may have experience in direct support professional roles, PCA positions, or other roles providing care and support to clients.
  • Must have an interest in working in the substance use disorder field, and a passion for providing a high level of care to individuals receiving care in our residential facility.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must have weekend availability.
  • Must be a compassionate individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve.
Compensation:

This is a non-exempt position. Total earnings for this position will range from $18.00 - $19.00 hourly.

Employees will receive an additional $1.50 per hour for all hours worked after 5:00 PM.

  • Actual compensation may be determined by various factors such as licensure, experience, skillset, internal equity, schedule and/ or location. Estimates are factored on a 1.0 FTE.
  • Employees in these positions are W2.
