Simoniz USA, Inc. is seeking a production operator to set up and run machines that mix and blend chemical raw materials into finished goods. The role requires precise handling of materials, adherence to schedules, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include weighing raw materials, operating mixers, sampling for quality tests, and maintaining records. Physical work includes lifting, bending, and frequent standing in a humid environment with exposure to moving equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Ability to read batch tickets and perform basic math.
• Follow safety policies and complete required safety training.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Wear required PPE and maintain PPE hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and tend to mixing machines per batch ticket instructions.
• Weigh or measure raw materials before adding to mixing tanks.
• Dump or pour raw materials into mixing tanks as required.
• Start and monitor mixing/blending processes and ensure proper times.
• Collect material samples for laboratory testing.
• Record production data on forms and logs.
• Clean and maintain mixing tanks, equipment, and work area.
• Follow supervisor directions and report issues promptly.

Job Description

This position is responsible for setting up, operating and tending to machines to mix and blend chemical raw materials into finished goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to work schedule and be able to report to work on time and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift
• Accept direction from shift supervisor
• May move materials manually or with forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or other equipment
• Compound and process raw materials, scents and dyes according to batch ticket
• Weigh or measure raw materials prior to putting into mixing tanks
• Dump or pour specified amounts of raw materials into mixing tanks via pumps or manual means
• Start machines to mix or blend ingredients and allow them to mix for specified times as per instructions
• Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Stop mixing or blending equipment per instructions on the batch ticket once specified product quantity is obtained
• Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing
• Record production data on specified forms
• Clean and maintain mixing tanks, equipment, and work area
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Stand, walk, handle, reach outward and above shoulder, climb and bend frequently and squat occasionally
• Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, frequently
• Push or pull up to 100 pounds frequently
• Be able to judge distance, color, periphery and depth

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work in a humid environment
• Work near moving mechanical parts
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
• May handle caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPE
• Moderate noise level from forklifts and other equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to work effectively and get along with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or job type and with a wide variety of personalities in groups or individually
• Complete required safety training, perform tasks in a safe manner, follow safety policies
• Wear specified personal protective equipment which may include steel/composite toe work boots, safety glasses, aprons, protective gloves or respirators, hoods, masks, face shields etc. as required
• Change PPE throughout shift as required for process
• Ability to create and blend batches accurately
• Read batch tickets to determine production specifications and information
• Possess basic math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
• Ability to communicate verbally in English in order to give directions or request information from Supervisor or Manager
• Ability to write short notes or comments to Supervisor or Manager in English
• Must be detailed oriented
• Meet the quantity requirements according to the production schedule
• Follow written and verbal directions
