Job summary

Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to support manufacturing operations in Ogden, Utah. The role requires handling chemical processes, monitoring equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

You will work with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, record data, and maintain production logs while following strict chemical room protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year strong manufacturing background in a laboratory environment.
• Experience with chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing.
• Experience in laboratory inventory control.
• Advanced math skills are required.
• Experience in engineering testing failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment such as air scrubbers, wastewater treatment plant, chemical tanks, and monorail overhead cranes.
• Control process variables using computer systems or control panels.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Record production data and maintain logs.
• Take samples and perform basic quality checks.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs or improvements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Load and unload parts into processing racks.
• Ensure etching processes meet specifications for precision and uniformity.
• Record process data and maintain detailed production logs.
• Follow strict chemical room protocols and contamination control procedures.
• Troubleshoot process equipment alarms.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve yield and efficiency.
• Adhere to safety procedures when handling chemicals and wearing PPE.

Hours

Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm (With alternating Friday)

Core Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment such as air scrubbers, wastewater treatment plant, chemical tanks, and monorail overhead cranes.

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols

• Ability to utilize hand sheers, fume hood extractor, dimensional measuring, analytical lab equipment and scales.
• Prefer background in Aerospace Industry.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
• Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
