Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager to lead our restaurant-style culinary operation across dining venues. You will balance hands-on cooking with managing a high-performing kitchen team, ensuring exceptional food quality, safety, and service for residents and guests.

You will oversee budgeting, inventory, scheduling, and regulatory compliance while partnering with regional and corporate culinary leaders to maintain Belmont Village’s premier dining program.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • ServSafe certificate required.
  • Formal culinary training (degree or certificate) required.
  • Must communicate clearly in English (verbal and written).
  • Flexible schedule as dining program requires.
  • Experience with MS Office and POS systems.
  • Minimum two years of kitchen managerial experience; five years in volume cooking.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance essential.

  • Oversee food service compliance while ensuring quality and productivity by scheduling and coordinating kitchen staff.
  • Ensure recipe consistency and adherence to company standards while allowing culinary creativity for events.
  • Drive resident and guest satisfaction through quality meals and superior dining service.
  • Manage food ordering and inventory to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Build positive workplace culture by training staff in safety protocols and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align with goals.
  • Lead staffing efforts, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, and delegation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Chef Manager, you will lead all aspects of our restaurant-style culinary operation, balancing hands‑on culinary leadership with the management of a high‑performing kitchen team. This is a working management position responsible for food quality, kitchen operations, staffing, budgeting, inventory management, food safety, regulatory compliance, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Chef Manager who has successfully led high-volume commercial kitchens, developed strong culinary teams, maintained exceptional food quality, and consistently delivered outstanding hospitality. Supported by experienced Regional and Corporate Culinary leaders, you'll have the opportunity to grow your career while leading one of the industry's premier senior living dining programs.

YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive resident and guest satisfaction through clear communication, superior meal preparation, and outstanding dining service.

  • Manage food ordering and equipment inventory to minimize waste, control costs, and maintain budget compliance.

  • Build a positive workplace culture by training employees in safety protocols, food handling, and kitchen cleanliness, while applying company policies fairly and consistently.

  • Collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align with organizational goals.

  • Lead staffing efforts, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, employee training, and task delegation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • ServSafe certificate

  • Formal culinary training through degree or certificate program

  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English

  • Ability to work flexible schedule as the needs of the dining program require

  • Demonstrated successful use of technology in the workplace including MS Office and POS

  • Minimum two years comparable kitchen managerial experience with five years experience in volume cooking

  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
