Job summary

Disney Cruise Line seeks a Chef De Rang for Remy, its French-inspired luxury restaurant aboard a Disney vessel. You will provide outstanding guest service and craft a dining experience like no other, reporting to the Maître d'Hotel.

Bring at least one year in fine dining, experience in Michelin-star environments, wine knowledge, and confidence in conversing with international guests. This shipboard role requires living onboard, following safety plans, and embracing a multicultural crew.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year (two years recommended) in a high-level fine dining service environment.
• Experience in a Michelin Star restaurant.
• Good knowledge of international wines and cocktail recipes, and brands of alcohol.
• Confident in speaking to well-traveled guests.

Responsibilities

• Have detailed menu descriptions to guests, take orders, and set tables for each course.
• Coordinate service and ensure accurate timing and delivery of food to the proper table and guest.
• Lead all aspects of side work and other tasks assigned by Management.
• Use computer work station (Micros system).
• Coordinate ordering, pickup and delivery of all food and beverages to work station and guests.
• Partner with Demi Chef de Rang to provide a flawless guest experience.
• Understand food safety programs and maintain USPH sanitation standards.
• Practice upselling and suggestive selling techniques.
• Follow all vendor procedures for alcohol service.
• Bid fond farewell to guests and ensure they enjoyed their dining experience.

Basic Qualifications

What You Will Bring to the Team

• Minimum one year (two years recommended) recent experience in the service industry in a high-level fine dining restaurant setting
• Experience in Michelin Star restaurant
• Good knowledge of international wines and cocktail recipes, and brands of alcohol
• Confident in speaking to well-traveled guests

Additional Information

This is a SHIPBOARD role. You must:

• Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
• Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
• Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
• If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations

Your Responsibilities

• Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
• Complete a pre-employment medical
• Obtain a criminal background check
• Bring approved work shoes
