Job summary

The Montebello on Academy Senior Living Community in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. You will prepare high-quality meals in a senior living environment, following health, safety, and company standards while working in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience, understand special diets, and can read recipes. You will collaborate with a team and accommodate flexible shifts, with opportunities to grow within Stellar Senior Living.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar cook/chef role.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and special diets is a plus.
• Safe food handling techniques are required.

Job Description

Our cooks prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations, as well as company standards. To be a successful cook, you will be quick and diligent and be able to follow instruction and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a well-organized and efficient food service department
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of all basic food production skill sets with the ability to perform these error-free and meet the company quality standards
• Prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized manner

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position.
• Experience and/or knowledge of special diets, meal preparation for large groups preferred
• Safe food handling techniques are required
• Ability to read and understand recipes
• Work in a team environment
• Work flexible shifts
• Handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.
