Job summary

Carmel Terrace Assisted Living in Framingham, MA, is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations in partnership with the Dietary Director. You will produce meals according to standardized recipes, manage staff, and ensure sanitary, timely service for residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff in cooperation with Director of Dietary/Executive Chef.
• Handle and prepare food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
• Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Meet time schedules for serving of meals and snacks.
• Ensure food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to guidelines.
• Supervise setup of steam table for dining room and trayline service.
• Check outgoing food for amounts, types and quality.
• Care for dietary equipment.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and public health standards.

Come join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Assisted and Independent Living community sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike.

We are seeking to fill the position of Chef.

• $27 per hour based on skills and experience.
• Shifts vary from 6am to 2pm and 10am and 6pm. Every Other Weekend required.

Head Chef Qualifications:

• Institutional chef experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes.
• Organizational skills and being able to work independently required.

Head Chef Job Summary:

• Supervisor Kitchen staff in cooperation with Director of Dietary/Executive Chef.

• Check outgoing food for proper amounts, types and quality of food.
• Properly care for dietary equipment.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, Department of Public Health and Board of Health Standards.
