Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products; answer questions and suggest items.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients as per recipe with kitchen tools.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory; note discrepancies.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures and log-keeping for cases and coolers.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report needs.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts in a professional, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity about customer and business info.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
