Qualifications

• Cheerleading experience at high school or college level is required.
• Camp environment experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with campers, staff, and leadership.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise groups of children in an active camp environment.
• Commitment to a safe, positive, inclusive environment for all campers.
• Experience developing drills, practices, games, or recreational activities for various ages.
• Previous summer camp, youth development, education, recreation, or childcare experience.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, or safety certification.
• Experience working with children of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental cheer skills and lead more advanced drills and strategy.
• Supervise campers and guide daily activities including field trips.
• Develop and lead daily sport-specific drill components and games.
• Ensure camper welfare and address issues with camp leadership.
• Comply with child safety reporting requirements as applicable.
• Perform additional duties as contracted.

• Wiz Kids Sports Camps are seasonal youth sports camps that offer athletic and academic enrichment to participants.

Qualifications

• Prior cheerleading experience at the high school and/or college level.
• Prior experience working in a camp environment is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with campers, staff, and leadership.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise groups of children in an active camp environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers.
• Experience developing or facilitating age-appropriate drills, practices, games, or recreational activities.
• Previous summer camp, youth development, education, recreation, or childcare experience.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, or other applicable safety certification.
• Experience working with children of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels.

Position Responsibilities

• The Cheer Coach is responsible for helping to teach fundamental skills as well as more advanced strategy.
• The Cheer Head Coach supervises and guide campers through the day ‐ to-day activities of the overall camp experience including field trips.
• Develop and lead daily sport-specific drill and game components.
• Ensure the welfare of campers and positive resolution of camper related issues by communicating clearly and consistently with camp leadership staff.
• Willingness to comply with Suspected Child Abuse Reporting (Subsection (a)(6) of 325 ILCS 5-4).
• Additional duties as contracted.

Camp Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30pm - this is subject to change dependent on camper enrollment and grade class sizes.
