Job summary

Lowe’s is hiring a part-time cashier to provide fast, friendly checkout experiences and assist customers with payments, exchanges, and questions in our Charlottesville, VA stores. You’ll support other departments as needed, stock shelves, and help drive excellent service in a busy retail environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and teamwork, with typical expectations of assisting customers at the register, at self-checkout, and helping maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and basic arithmetic required.
• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Experience using a computer to input/access information.
• Minimally lift 10 lbs, up to 15 lbs with/without accommodation.
• Sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
• Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.
• Answer customer questions and provide accurate information.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and surroundings.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
