Hy-Vee is hiring for a Checker in the Grocery department. You will operate the register, assist customers throughout the store, and help ensure every visit ends on a great note. The role emphasizes friendly service, accurate transactions, and compliance with store policies.
As the last face a customer sees, you’ll greet shoppers, handle payments, and maintain knowledge of items, prices, and promotions. Training is provided; no formal education required.

Accountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, and Store Operations; Service Managers
No education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeed.
This is a fast‑paced role in a retail store environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have frequent exposure to temperature extremes and possible dampness, as well as occasional exposure to equipment movement hazards and cleaning chemicals or solvents. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen.
