Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. in New Orleans, LA is seeking a full-time shipping and receiving associate to pull orders, load/unload trailers, and ensure accurate product recording.

The role requires basic math skills, physical capability to move heavy equipment, and adherence to all safety and company policies. Ideal candidates have at least six months of shipping experience and can read and record information clearly.

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more months shipping or related experience.
• No educational prerequisite; however, must have demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record information applicable to the job.

Responsibilities

• Pulls orders, counts, loads, and unloads product on incoming and outgoing trailers per shipping schedule.
• Ensures that product received from production or other plants is recorded correctly.
• Load and unloads to appropriate distribution area to ensure that shipping schedules are met.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
• Performance of other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules and attendance policies.
• Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
• Physically capable of movement to all Shipping areas.
• Ability to exert force necessary to move wheeled equipment weighing 400 lbs, at a distance of 100 feet.
• Ability to routinely stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing 20 lbs.
• Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment, as needed.
• Must meet/maintain FDC and CDC food handling requirements on public safety for work in a food production environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

Salary Range- $20.19
