Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Operate the cash register and process payments including cash, checks, cards, and coupons.
• Manage change, receipts, returns, and refunds according to policy.
• Follow local, state, and federal guidelines for WIC, food stamps, tobacco, liquor, and lottery sales.
• Stock, face, rotate merchandise, and assist customers to items; keep shelves neat.
• Keep register area clean, report cash levels, and verify balances at shifts start/end.
• Communicate clearly with staff and assist in promotions and store events.
• Support other areas as needed and adhere to Hy-Vee policies and hygiene standards.

You will have frequent exposure to temperature extremes and possible dampness, as well as occasional exposure to equipment movement hazards and cleaning chemicals or solvents.
