ConGlobal Industries LLC is seeking a skilled Chassis Mechanic in Chesapeake, VA to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and quality work with opportunities for career advancement.

Key duties include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing PMIs and DOT inspections, and welding or fabricating parts as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs; open availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in chassis/trailer repair and maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre-employment background verification and drug screening.
• Open availability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis, including braking systems, lights, suspensions, landing gear, tires, and structural components
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on chassis and related trailer equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT inspections
• Weld, cut, and fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairs
• Complete accurate repair documentation, work orders, and inspection forms
• Operate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations, company standards, and safety procedures
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely and effective repairs
• Assist with yard moves or minor container repairs as needed
